History of the Lyceum
The history of Makhinjauri Lyceum Ltd. dates back to 2001. It was established under the name of "Makhinjauri Gymnasium" Ltd. on the basis of the Makhinjauri Russian secondary school in 2005. On the basis of №379 Order of the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, as of August 21, 2006, a special license for the secondary general educational activities of Makhinjauri Lyceum Ltd. has been issued. Since its establishment, as a result of proper planning and prioritization, the number of students/vocational students of the Lyceum has been increasing every year. On the basis of №55 Resolution of the authorization Council of General Education Institutions (05.05.2011) it was awarded the status of general educational institution for the purpose of implementation of secondary stage educational programme and the right of implementation of vocational educational programmes for the period of 4 years. On the basis of №12 Resolution of the authorization Council of General Education Institutions (27.04.2016) it was awarded the status of general educational institution for the purpose of implementation of secondary stage educational programme and the right of implementation of vocational educational programmes for the period of 6 years.
